Sofia writes to a friend she misses, and waits for a reply.
Sofia had a friend named Elena. Elena lived in another city, far away. They did not see each other for a long time.
One day, Sofia decided to write a letter. She sat at her table with a pen and paper. She thought about the good times with Elena.
"Dear Elena," she wrote. "How are you? I miss you very much. Do you remember our summer at the lake? We swam every day. We were so happy."
Sofia wrote about her new job. She wrote about her cat and her small garden. She asked many questions. "When can you visit me?" she wrote at the end.
She put the letter in an envelope and wrote Elena's address on it. Then she walked to the post office and sent it.
Two weeks later, Sofia found a letter in her box. It was from Elena! Sofia opened it fast. "Dear Sofia," Elena wrote, "I miss you too. I will visit you next month."
Sofia was very happy. She read the letter again and again. Then she started to make plans. She wanted everything to be perfect for her friend.
